Yeah, in 2005 most servers seemed to have been 60/40 Alliance. The reason was that the playerbase that was then was more innocent and WOW TBC Classic Gold casual (aka cared more about character fantasy than researching meta pvp). People chose alliance due to it being more relatable and they wanted heroes like the ones in Lord of the Rings. The desire to be a zombie or monster "bad guy" was more of an option. But I do remember that the will of the forsaken was very popular, and horde being more pvp focused. It wasn't an issue. The general consensus was that horde had better pvp racials however it didn't matter that much.
It's likely to be a lot better with TBC and more zones, however when it was the classic game levels, open-world PvP and even leveling could be buy WOW Burning Crusade Classic Gold a complete challenge for Alliance players on PVP servers. With horde and horde queues, there is no reason at all for meta players (majority of players, but not all) to roll Alliance.
